Course title: "Altars and Rituals: Creating Safe Spaces for Epigenetic Ancestral Healing”

Materials to bring to Virtual Course: A journal, a pen/pencil, a picture of your family (on your phone is fine).

Course Syllabus

Course Objective: There is so much new research, data and books written on Epigenetics and the healing properties of Ancestral wisdom and rituals. This course will used a de-colonized approach at creating safety and routine through our epigentic joy and ancestral wisdom. This course serves to help clinicians introduce techniques to tone our nervous system through cultural practices and rituals that may be calling to a client through Epigenetics.

This course considers the intergenerational experience and traumatic impacts of colonialism on the loss of cultural practices and the way we have coped with identity loss. This course presents ideas to create culturally impactful connections with client’s using ancestral wisdom from their lineage.

Learning Objectives:

Increase the awareness of the effects of colonialism and stress on our nervous system.

Provide common language for clinicians to explain the cost to our wellness based on inherited Epigenetics and the benefits of it.

Build connection through creating altars and rituals to provide mindfulness and structure.

Outcomes;

1.Participants will be able to explain what Epigenetics is and how it impacts us.

2.Participants will increase their knowledge of epigenetic evolution and ways to use family history as a reference point for resiliency.

3. Participants will be able to identify legacy burdens and support ancestral healing as a tool for client wellness.

4.Participants will gain knowledge in how to help their clients create a safety in their lives by creating personalized altars and wellness rituals rooted in their ancestral knowledge and history.
